PUT TO REMEMBRANCE

By Brother Godwin

Beloved,

Theme scripture: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits (Psalms 103:2).

I welcome you to the month of August 2011. No matter what has not happened before now, my God will make it up for you. You may have believed, and it appears that you have not received it. You know what, once your request is covered in the WILL called the Bible, that is the only evidence that God has granted your petition (1 John 5:14-15). Look at this; I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass (Isaiah 48:3). Are you expecting this manifestation? Listen, your miracle is going to be sudden in the name of Jesus Christ. AmenThe theme scripture says we should not forget God’s benefits. A lot of times we tend to think that salvation is only of the soul so that we can go to heaven. Yes, going to heaven is a major aspect of salvation but there are other components also.

When Adam sinned, he was separated from God and because of it, sickness, lack, sufferings and every evil work followed him. The scripture says that the redemption that Christ brought was much more than the effect of Adam’s sin.  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many (Romans 5:15). You know what?   He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). So the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ destroyed the works of the devil. See these: For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2Corinthians 8:9). Also who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed (1 Peter 2:24). Friend, Jesus blotted the evil hand writings against us and triumphed over the enemy. Please note that Jesus Christ is not going to make us free. No! He had already made us free. We have been delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13).

So what are we doing with what we have been delivered from? It is not smart at all. The Bible calls it frustrating the grace of God (Galatians 2:21; 2 Corinthians 6:1)We have seen God as the ones that forgives all our iniquities, we need to wake to the fact that he also heals all our diseases,  redeems our lives from destruction, crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies and satisfies thy mouth with good things (Psalms 103:1-5). You need to believe him as such, and receive prosperity, deliverance and healing the same way you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior (Colossians  2:6). You know what, David had to remind himself. This is the same principle confirmed by Jesus and recounted in so many places in the new testament; the principle of putting to remembrance. Jesus said that one of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). In fact he (Jesus) instituted the communion and said this do in remembrance of me (Luke 22:19). Paul, Peter and Jude constantly put the church in remembrance (Hebrew 2:1; 1Timothy 4:6; Jude 5). So we need to constantly remind ourselves that we have not just been forgiven, we have been healed, made prosperous and crowned (or given authority). Hallelujah! We need to understand why we need to remember. Interestingly, even God said we should put him in remembrance (Isaiah 43:26), so putting to remembrance has something to do with our taking delivery of our covenant rights. Paul asked Timothy to stop crying and instead stir up the gift of God in him (2 Timothy 1:6). Peter told us how that is done. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance (2 Peter 1:13). Putting the scriptures together, we stir God up by putting him in remembrance (this is what praises and confessions do) and we stir up his power in us when we are put in remembrance either by others or ourselves.  You put to remembrance by speaking. Thus we are enjoined to speak to ourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:18-19).

This is an important point: the same death of Jesus that took care of our sins also took care of our lack, brokenness and sicknesses. He did a complete job. He gave us a total package. Do not be satisfied with only part of it.Your miracle will appear suddenly in the name of Jesus ChristGodwin

WORTHY OF ETERNAL LIFE

By Brother Godwin
Beloved,
Main Scripture: Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God's word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles (Acts 13:46WEB).
I want to give praise to our Father for keeping us during the past seven months of 2011. He keeps covenant, and can be depended on. I will encourage us to take time out to praise him in this new month in line with Psalms 81:3-5 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not. This is an instruction with benefits. Do you desire to have a testimony in August 2011? God ordained praise as the sickle of harvest.
Our Father is not a man that lies. If God has any issue, it is with our faith in his ability. He has no issue with the devil because that has been permanently defeated. God has no issue with our challenges because he has made all the provision we need to be on top of them. It is our faith that is the question. Here what God said inPsalms 81:13-16 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.  The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured forever.  He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee. The same thing was said in Isaiah 48:18-19. So the issue is how much we pay attention to God and what He said; how much we live the Word of God.
Did you notice our main scripture? Those people considered themselves unworthy of eternal life? Now you need to put off your religious cloak to receive this. You and I need to consider ourselves worthy of eternal life. Worthy means “to have worth or merit or value”. It means “meriting respect”. This means we need to consider ourselves as meriting eternal life: God’s kind of life. This means you merit to stay healthy and healed; you as a child of God merit to be prosperous; you merit to be free from any molestation of the enemy; you merit to live the way God lives. This means we do not beg. Now I did not say this. The Bible did. If you understand the mystery of identity with Jesus Christ, then it will not be difficult to accept. As Christians, we were crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20); we died with Christ (Romans 6:8, Colossians 2:20); we are risen with Christ (Colossians 3:1) and we are quickened (made alive) with Christ (Ephesians 2:5). So whatever Jesus Christ did, we were there. But we need to reckon or identify with it (Romans 6:11).
Another concept that relates to this is the Christian as the righteousness of God. Jesus became sin so that we may become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Righteousness means right standing with God. This means we have rights in the kingdom of God. We have the right to be healed. We have the right to be delivered. We have the right to prosper spirit soul and body. We have the right to be free. We have the right to carry and manifest God’s presence.  The right was procured by the price Jesus paid. When you know you have a right, you should consider yourself worthy. What are you waiting for? Insist on your right until you can handle it. We boldly go to the throne and demand for our rights (Hebrews 4:16).
I will encourage you to check the scriptures in this write up and take time to meditate on them.
Friend, consider that you merit eternal life (God’s kind of life) because the price was fully paid.
Your set time of favour has come.

KEEP PRESSING UNTIL IT OPENS

By Brother Godwin

Beloved,
Main scripture: The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it (Luke 16:16)
I wish to bring a Word from God to someone today “keep pressing until you get your desire”; “keep pressing until what is provided in the covenant for you is in your hands”. You may have fallen once. Get up and keep moving forward. You may have been disappointed once. That can never be the reason to give up. You are the only person that has the authority to close your case. Once your eyes are fixed on the victory never mind any apparent disappointment. Jesus despised shame for the glory ahead. Listen to this; God always causes us to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14). If God never fails, then you cannot fail. For you to fail God would have to fail and God cannot fail.
Champions are never made in the living room. Champions are products of battles. That challenges come your ways does not mean you have sinned. It also does not mean yu have failed already. From the scriptures we understand that Jesus defeated the enemy (Revelation 1:18) but you and I need to stand our ground and take possession of what have been given to us (1 Timothy 6:12). It is called the good fight of faith. God told the Israelites Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle (Deuteronomy 2:24). Did you notice that? God gave them the land, but they still needed to take possession. To ensure that they understood what God said, he told them plainly  to contend in battle. Friend, it is not the time to give up. It is time to contend in battles using the weapons that are available to us (2 Corinthians 10:3). Use the blood of Jesus; use the Word of faith; add the name of Jesus; speak to the mountains and keep speaking. Fight the good fight of faith.
Let us see the mentality of over comers in 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. First understand that your challenge is not special. The Bible says that every challenge is common. So do not specialize yours. Stop going around telling stories of woes in order to get sympathy. People are limited in the extent that they can help you. Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of (Isaiah 2:22)? Secondly know that God is faithful. He means what he says. If God up holds all things by the word of his power, your life and my life are too small to be beyond him (Hebrews 1:2-3). He is able and willing. The question that needs to be answered is this: shall God find faith in you (Luke 18:8). Thirdly, you need to understand that whenever any challenge shows up, it had already been established by heaven that it is not beyond you. I mean you have the ability to overcome it because God will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able to deal with. Let me tell you this: you can handle that challenge. Yes, you can! Finally, note that there is a way to overcome what you are facing today. What we need to do is to look for the way in the Word of God. No second hand information would do. So wake up and take your liberty. Do not give up. You know what? Every challenge has an expiration date because weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning (Proverbs 30:5). joy always comes. Hallelujah!
There was something that God opened my eyes to sometime ago. Many times Christians believe God for a breakthrough or an answer. But before the answer comes, they have already made up their mind on how to explain it if it fails or on an alternative. I have done that before, and there is a good chance that you have done it. You hear things like, it was not the will of God or God thought me something from the failure. If, it was not the will of God, why did you waste your time praying? There is only one place I know we are thought from; and that is the scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16). These are simply tactics motivated by the deceiver to keep us from focusing on the fight of faith and taking responsibility. The point is this, stop preparing for failure because it makes you double minded. The Bibles says that the double minded should not think that he/she should receive anything from God (James 1:6-8).
So keep pressing until you get it. If you could not find the key in Genesis, go to Mark or Matthew or James. Do not convince yourself that you have done enough. No; you have not.  You know what, when thou have found it (the key) there shall be a reward and thy expectations shall not be cut off (Proverbs 24:13-14). Find the key in the Word and apply it. When the answer is not at hand, it is not the devil or that God does not want you to have it. In fact everything in the covenant had been given to us (2 Peters 1:3-4). It simply means that you have not found the key. It is not time to be discouraged. Neither is it time to explain why it has not happened. It is time to keep looking and keep pressing.
You know what? Surely there is an end to your wait and your expectation shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18).

GOD IS READY

By Brother Godwin

Beloved,

Main scripture:  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Let me start by giving an illustration. The spot you are standing or sitting does not only have this message, it also has radio waves and television signals. Your lack of both the radio and television signals is not because those signals are not available. They are available. You lack them because either you do not have the appropriate equipment or if you have them, you are not tune to the exact frequency.

Your heart or your spirit is the equipment that connects to God (Proverbs 20:27). We are spirits but not all are connected to God. They are not connected because they are not perfect towards him. Just like the radio signals, God’s strength is anywhere man is but cannot be released in our lives until our hearts are perfect towards God. The perfect in this scripture also means true or complete. It refers to complete focus, absolute trust, not double minded. The blood of Jesus Christ has perfected us forever (Hebrews 10:14). So sin is not your problem or my problem. We are talking of the disposition of our hearts towards God. Do you accept that God means what he said in his Word?

Jesus never told anyone that came to him with a need to go and come back tomorrow. All that believed received. This is because the scripture says: Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it (Proverbs 3:27). God the Judge of all the earth shall never do wrong (Genesis 18:25)? If he wants us to attend to anyone that makes a demand on us, he does likewise. But do we have absolute trust in him? Do we accept that what he says is true and that he means what he said? Is our heart perfect towards him?

Paul writing to the Corinthians made an important statement that I trust God to enter you today. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3).  Friend, God’s Word is simple but true; God’s Word is simple but effective. It effectually works in them that believes it (1 Thessalonians 2:13); the heart that is perfect towards God. The challenges that come our way are not beyond God. In fact they are under our control. The weapons available to us are extremely powerful but work under one condition (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). You want to know the condition? And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:6). The problem is not the challenge. The problem is not the weapon. The problem is our obedience.

I have found out from the scripture that our greatest obedience is to accept God’s word as true, and to think, talk and act as if it true. God told Joshua that the only courage he needed was the courage to obey him (Joshua 1:6, 7 and 9). This is faith: accepting God’s word as the final authority.

People would rather labor than accept the truth of God’s Word. For instance, people would rather emphasis that the woman in Luke 18 kept praying repeatedly than see the point Jesus was trying to make which is in verse 8. Shall God find faith in you that would allow him to work in your affairs?  In other words, shall God find a perfect heart?

That you have what you prayed for is not the evidence that God heard you. I will explain what I mean. In Exodus 4 God told Moses to cast the rod in his hand before Pharaoh and it would turn to a snake but he did not tell him that Pharaoh’s magicians would also turn their rods into snakes. God did not tell him that his rod would swallow all the rods of the magicians. So the only evidence of victory that Moses had was that he did what God said. Once he did that, all other developments were taken care of (Exodus 7:10-12). You do not know that God has answered you because you have the answer. You know because you obeyed God. You know because you accepted his Word. The scripture says  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him (1 John 5:14-15). So we know that we have our answers because we asked according to God’s will (God’s Word).  This is why Paul and Silas did not rush out of the prison when the doors were thrown open by the earthquake. The God that opened the doors could do it over and over again.

Friend, faith is the victory (1 John 5:4). Faith can bring the miracles over and over again. So do not leave faith and face the miracle. That is why people lose their miracles. The faith that produces it also preserves it. You will not lose your miracles in the name of Jesus Christ.

God wants to show himself strong in your life. He is only looking for a complete heart; a heart that sees God’s Word as the only thing that matters. I heart that accepts that the only unchangeable thing is the Word of God. A heart that believes and speaks.  To do otherwise is foolishness.

Your hour liberty has come

COVENANT OF PRAISE

By Brother Godwin

Beloved,

When the Psalmist declared “I will praise the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my lips”, it was not because he has nothing to do. It was because he understood that every word of praise is a seed.  God established a covenant after the flood when he declared that “while the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22). David knew that God keep covenants. Therefore his dances were not to lose weight or to impress anybody. He was continually sowing seed into God. Did I say sowing seed into God? No. I did not say it, God said it in his word. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations (Isaiah 61:11). Wao! God likened himself to a garden and because his covenant would he not break, he causes righteousness and praise sown into him to spring forth.

Stop looking at the things you think that God has not done. That was the cause of Eve’s down fall. She had all, but the enemy deceived her to focus on the one instead of on the all. You know what, the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen (THOSE EXPECTATIONS OF YOURS; THE MIRACLES, JOBS HEALINGS ETC), being understood by the things that are made (ARE CLEARLY EVIDENT BY THE MIRACLES YOU ARE ENJOYING TODAY; THE MIRACLES YOU SEE IN THE LIFE OF OTHERS), even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20). If you are breathing now, God’s power is already manifest in you. Jesus asked in Matthew 6:25, “is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Focus on what you have and praise God for them, because the others are on their way. Are you expecting a baby? Anytime you see anyone carrying a baby, it is a sure proof that yours is on the way. This applies to car, houses, jobs and whatever…because the invincible things of God are understood by what is made. Hallelujah! Friend, praise God for the answer of what you believe him for. Is it money, celebrate him for money. Are you believing for children, praise him for those. Do you know what? The Bible’s evidence that you have received what you asked him is your prayer according to what his words says (1 John 5:14-15, THINK ABOUT THIS SCRIPTURE)? Once we have prayed in line with what the word of God says, we are confident that he heard us and granted our petition.

Let's take it from another angle. The Bible says that at the mentioned of the name of Jesus every knee bows, isn’t it? I want to tell something; whatever the name of Jesus can do, praise to God can do. Hallelujah! According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness (Psalms 48:10). This was the secret of the victory over the walls of Jericho. Jehoshaphath understood this and looked for singers instead of men who can use spears, bows and arrows (2 Chronicles 20:21). You know what? God does wonders when we praise him (Exodus 15:11).

Praise stills the enemy. I mean, praise incapacitate the devil. Just like you and I cannot survive inside water, the devil cannot survive praise. The psalmist said this: Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger (Psalms 8:2). So God put strength in mouth of babes and suckling for the sole purpose of incapacitating the enemy. Jesus quoting this same scripture in Matthew 21: 16 and phrased it this way: Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? Are you seeing anything? Jesus referred to strength as praise. Friends, faith-full praises to God unleashing God's strength in man’s affairs. You can also see what regard God has for the devil. Can’t you? The enemy is so small that babes and suckling can deal with. If babes and suckling can incapacitate the enemy, I don’t see the problem that you as an adult has. Are you still there?
God sounded disappointed in Psalms 81:13-16 when he said Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee. What was it that they did not hearken to? They refused to open their mouth wide to praise God (Psalms 81:1-3, 10). Because it was so important to the victory of his children, God gave it as a commandment (Psalms 81:4, Malachi 2: 1-2). There is really no excuse.

So get ready and praise God anyhow. Not just on Saturday but at all times. Start sowing the seed of praise into God and the turn around that you will experience would surprise you. God keeps covenants.

See you on Saturday…………and bring your friends along.
